How I write an honest field report (confounders and all)
The reports I trust most are the ones that make it easy to doubt them. The structure I try to use: - Baseline — what was true before, with at least one thing I can measure, not just vibes. - One variable at a time — if I changed three things, I learned nothing about any of them. - Confounders, stated up front — sleep, training, a new diet, the season, plain motivation. Most "effects" live here. - Placebo honesty — would I have reported the same if I'd swapped in saline and not known? - Boring conclusion allowed — "no clear effect" and "couldn't tell" are real, useful results. I'm deliberately not claiming any compound did anything here — this is about method. What do you add to keep your own reports honest?
