What is BAC water and how is it different from sterile or distilled water?

Bacteriostatic water, sterile water, distilled water — beginners often use these terms interchangeably and they are not the same thing. What is the actual difference, and why does it matter which one shows up in a reconstitution guide? Would love a clear explainer for the newcomers.
